amanda and i got the ohio late friday night… actually 12:30 thursday morning. we ended up talking to her mom and sister for a while and went ot bed pretty late.
saturday, we (amanda, me, her mom, sister, and grandmother, and stacy, who met use there later) went to strongsville to its big mall and other shopping areas to look for a pattern for stacy’s bridesmaid dress top as the one amanda had gotten earlier does not fit her well. we found a pattern, but did not locate any suitable fabric. stacy will probably just try to find suitable fabric and whatnot later.
later, we also looked for a dress for her grandmother to wear, random clothes in general, and got makeup for amanda for the wedding and stuff in general from Aveda.
i didn’ really do much shopping; i was merely tagging along. shopping in groups seems woefully inefficient to me (and was in this case). i did idly look for some dressier shoes in my continuing attempt to upgrade my wardrobe, but i didn’t really see anything.
amanda’s parent were gone all evening at a contra dance, so amanda, her sister, and i ate dinner at a mexican restaurant close to her house. i had the “las rancheritas”: two cheese enchiladas, fried mushrooms, and a side of spanish rice. very good and very inexpensive. we went to a nearby hollywood video to see an movie; i wanted to get “animals are beautiful people“, but we settled for “the gods must be crazy“. i had not seen it in a long time. i was much more violent than i remember, but it is still a good movie.
sunday before we left, amanda tried on her wedding dress (the main purpose of the trip), and it fit perfectly, so her mother doesn’t really need to do any adjustments and just has to finish off the hems. it looks quite nice. we ate lunch with her family and then left for the return trip to buffalo.
