so i get to the midas place, but the hood of my car was up in the parking lot. apparently, when they replaced the battery, the subaru went into this mysterious state where the parking lights blinked on and off continuously. the internal lights blinked as well. it was almost like my security system was malfunctioning; unfortunately, i do not have one in the subaru. we tried various things, but then decided that i should see if the remote locker thingy would reset the electrical system, but mine was in buffalo.
so i went home and packed the car up with practically all of my books and drove back to buffalo. the whole way i was entertained by an insidious click…click…click…click emanating from the dashboard. the flashing lights themsleves were not noticeable since it was dark and i had the car lights on; they were only apaprent when i stopped for gas and dinner (bk veggie) at the seneca rest area.
when i arrived at home, lo! the remote locker thingy did work! no more flashing lights. what a silly little thing to have to do. i was prepared to just keep disconnecting the battery until i had a chance to track down the problem.
random sights on the what up to buffalo: there was a massive pileup outside of tops. it looked like one or more cars rear-ended a police car. the police didn’t seem too thrilled about it. a freaking xtra long train was passing through downtown on my way out, causing a humongous traffic jam for people trying to enter and exit ithaca from 79,89, and 96. i have never understood why the trains aways manage to come through the city during obvious heavy traffic periods.
